A REMINDER ABOUT THE NEW CMRA GRANT:
Cherokee Meadows Road Association has received a $10,000 Community Mitigation Grant from the Larimer County Office of Emergency Management (OEM).
Grant funded work must be completed no later than October 31, 2025.
CMRA was successful in being awarded these grant funds due to our commitment to demonstrate community support and community engagement with this project activity, as required by the grant. Preference was given to projects including multiple stakeholders, with large community buy-in and participation. This grant program is designed to incite community collaboration, reward neighbors helping neighbors and improve social capital - ultimately increasing resilience to future disaster or disruption.
To be eligible for grant funds you must do 3 things:
1. Attend Wildfire Training Program on Saturday June 21 at Livermore Fire Protection District (LFPD) Station #1, located at 311 W County Rd 74e, Livermore. The training begins at 10:00 am and will take approximately 1.5 hours, including Q&A and discussion with participating experts from OEM, Emergency Services, Coalition for Poudre River Watershed, State of Colorado, and Ember Alliance. You will be required to sign-in to the program and stay to the end. You won’t regret it! The Annual Meeting and potluck lunch will follow immediately after this training.
2. Have a free Home Ignition Zone Assessment (HIZA) conducted on your land by our own Livermore firefighters certified as Wildfire Partners Ambassadors to perform the HIZA. This takes about 1 hour. Contact https://www.livermorefireco.gov/home-ignition-zone-assessment for an appointment.
3. Commit to implementing the HIZA recommendations for your home and property, to the extent possible and practical, using a combination of grant funds, self-pay, and in-kind work on your own property and/or volunteering to help your neighbors.
